| Anyone, both abroad and here at home is making any drastic changes in their carnival budget to accommodate recent economic distress? | |

| .. considering my recent economic distress is CAUSED by Carnival, I'm going to say.. no? it already drastic?
It's coming down to the wire and I'm wondering if I'm going to be eating KFC the entire time I'm there and hanging out near somebody's radio in order to at least listen to some music since maybe I don't get a chance to make any fetes!
/grin
maybe not that bad but ... boy. How much I already spent hitting me where it hurts. | |

| I'm going to have to save more money than originally planned because when I budgeted the pound was stronger than it is now, so I getting less for my savings. In other words my budget has no expanded! | |

| Well I have decided to go to less fetes and do more local things. Last year, when my friends and I went to a fete and the line was around the block, we decided to go to a casino and gamble. Now I am no an avid gambler, but we end up having a great time. Actually had more fun than some of the fetes that we went to. So we have decided that every year we try something different. | |

| Luckily for me last March as soon as I came home from Carnival I opened a little Carnival account and saved 100 a month and never touched it. So by February I will have at least an extra 1100.00 US to use to either pay my costume in full or go to an extra fete. so I am good. But when it comes to Carnival I don't care. I am going and it does not matter how much it cost. (I say that now ) | |

| No changes for me. However, plans may change if the rest in the group decide to limit the number of fetes etc. I'm set though! | |

| Luckily, no major changes for me either. My sister was supposed to go and pay off my costume this week, since I left more than enough money in my Trini bank account to sort it and so won't have to pay in sterling. I also have a Roytrin account that I haven't touched in about 18 months, so if push comes to shove I can always dip into it, but I doubt it'll come to that. It also helps that I don't have to worry about accommodation and cars, and I eh bound to fete. My dad also likes to take us out for meals, since he loves it when everyone's back under the same roof. I also have some savings from when I was working and my husband's really good at planning ahead for these things, so things should work out in the end. But one thing is, if less people going to fetes, then it'll mean less traffic to get there and back. Hmmm... something to ponder, methinks! | |

| Well, maybe I 'd too soon. Just seen on the Facebook group that there are some Individual costumes available. Now I'm wondering whether I should 'upgrade' my costume. There're only three for women though, but they are indeed pretty. Decisions, decisions! | |
