| I'm with CD and Nyc, in that I have no idea how I'm going to get around while I'm there. I understand that taxis don't work the same as they do in North America, where you just call one to come pick you up? | |

| @ Jady- yes there are companies that you can call and they'll come pick you up and come back for you (if you need them to). They'll be in the 'phonebook! | |

| Phew.
From all the information I could scrounge up, it sounded like unless you knew somebody or relied on the kindness of strangers, your only other option was to figure out the bus system.
which i am willing to do! but still, just calling a taxi sounds easier.

| All dem drivers good yes. I hear traffic home REAL bad and I think I would rather stay home in my house than face those roads. Last time I was home, I nearly had a stroke with all the traffic and bad driving. My road rage was in FULL effect!! | |

Tell me about it.. I am in traffic both mornings and evenings to/from work.. it is horrible. Yes there is a taxi service you can call to come pick you up: http://www.tntisland.com/hires-cars.html

| Quick tip when calling car service during Carnival time - Call 8 hours ahead of time!!! I tried that one year because I did it while home for Christmas and it was pretty much a breeze, not so at Carnival time. Also, TIP well so they are more willing to come get you and they remember you too LASTLY BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY DO NOT TRAVEL ALONE TAXI OR NOT!!!! | |

| What's the point of renting a car? Apparently traffic is so bad these days, you'll spend most of the time just sitting in said car instead of actually moving anywhere! And seeing as how I'm already so prone to road rage, I think a driver is my best bet. | |

| Did anyone use any of the taxi services on this site ( http://www.tntisland.com/hires-cars.html)? Any recommendations? I'm not from Trinidad and me and my friend are coming to Carnival for the first time and wanted to find a reliable driver for a few days. | |
