| Some people feel the need to drink $400 worth of liquor because they paid for it. Bartenders on the road should use the same ethics, not give a drunken person anyone drinks. It becomes a hazard after awhile for both the person and the band. | |

Ironically enough, we just had the first case in Canadian history of a bartender and bar owner being charged for manslaughter in the death of a 20-something year old woman who died of alcohol poisoning, as it was proven that they should've stopped serving her after a certain time. I also believe that if certain drink trucks see a patron who has reached their limit, they should stop serving that patron. But, even so, I've always believed that we as individuals have a responsibility to ourselves and to the people that came with us to know when enough is enough.

that's a definite rule. no mixing... ever. it will mash you up every time. maybe it's the fact that i'm moving whole day, drinking water whole day (and gatorade) or whatever but i've never been 'drunk' on the road either. hell, i don't get drunk un fetes either. it's just not a sweet feeling for me and the aftermath is enough to make me avoid it at all costs

This person can run in front of the truck or harm other people. So people become violent when intoxicated. Bands have to take partial responsibility because the people level of consciousness is impaired.

| It's a good idea in theory, to have the bar staff and the band take some sort of responsibility for their drunken masqueraders. But I don't think it's practical when you consider the size of the band and the fact that there are different bar trucks. In addition, when you consider how easy it is for someone to move around within the band as well. Plus how could you tell weather someone's drunk, or just excited to be on the road playing mas? Then you have the staff, who you can't really call bartenders. They're just people the band is paying the bare minimum to, whose only qualifications appear to be that they don't drop bottles when the truck moves off. It would be nice if people took responsibility for themselves though, hence knowing their limits. And what about people in the crew? Everybody drunk? Jokes yes! | |
