| What is/was your budget to play mas? Inclusive of costume, accessories etc?
Have you gone over budget, you within your range still?

| I don't really have a budget, which I guess is pretty bad. But if I had one, chances are I would have gone over it by now. Whoops!!
I don't think I'm as bad as other people though, since I don't go mad on accessories and what not. But my costume is pretty expensive though. Ah well...

| My budget for my costume this year was $4000. I have gone way over that.
I have no definite budget for my accessories and boots as yet.

| My budget for my costume this year was $6000.00TT! I over budgeted I have never gone over my costume budget. As for accessories I really do not have a budget for that but I will say: Boots $200.00TT( I got mine for less) Makeup Artist $300.00TT Monday Wear -$200.00TT Individual Lashes Application - $150.00TT or $800.00TT if I try the Xtreme Lash. Tights - $70.00TT ( 2 pairs) Hair $500.00 - $600.00 ( hair plus hair dresser fee) Miscellaneous stuff that I have at home are spirit gum, glitter, stones, Dr Scholls insoles. Are we adding fetes to the budget too? | |

| let's see.
$1300 for plane ticket $700-$900 for costume $2000 for two weeks in a guesthouse, mebbe - i ain't got the final price yet $450 in makeup so far - the good stuff ain't cheap, apparently $500 mebbe, for boots and various incidentals like new clothes ------------ $5150 Canadian so far.
Hmm. 'Spensive. I have no idea about fetes, yet. No idea how I'm supposed to get to them either.

| I don't have a budget...I just try my hardest to come in under $3000 US.
I find that if I look for the best deals on the stuff that I have to pay for while I am here, like airfare, hotel etc, then everything else is ok. I am always delightfully surprised at how cheap things are once you actually reach Trini! Meals & transport are so minimal! And I usually pay for my fete tickets before I reach.

| I budget USD$5,000 for Carnival. Thankfully the costs are spread over several months. I factor in airfare, hotel accomodations, costume, fetes, transportation and spending money into my budget. I have spent USD$1300 out of my budget to date on costume, airfare and hotel downpayment. | |

I liming with you Most of my budget is allocated to accommodations; in fact, it takes up nearly half. I can't beat the convenience of the Kapok Hotel and to me it almost feels like coming each year.

I in T.O., I ain't buy my ticket yet but de most I spendin is $1000.. I don't have a budget because most items spread over 5-6 months I can afford. I just try to know what makes sense to buy and what doesn't; and also try to cut corners whereever I can. For example, I don't think I can afford to pay a makeup artist for Carnival (plus I'm not good at waking up early!); but my friend at MAC said I can bring in a pic of the costume and they'll show me several ways to do my makeup for Carnival.

I didn't see this until just now. I'm flying in from the left coast of Canada which is ... well, hellngone from Trinidad apparently. I got the cheapest rate I could find without flying on airlines that I can't pronounce and it's still stupid/crazy. For that amount of money, they ought to gold-plate my seat, yeh! I want to walk off the plane and have two handsome guys take me out for dinner, I'm paying so much. MAC is great. Stuff doesn't move once you stick it on with the base and the fix-it afterwards. I gotta admit I'm wondering if I should invest in this Eye-Seal stuff though - I expect to be moving a lot, heyla, and really don't want anything to be slipping around.
