I told the damn trainer I don't want to loose weight just tone up, first my daughter told me I look smaller and then a few friends so I went on the scale and I'm 7 pounds lighter, what's going on I don't want to look skinny atall! I overdid it one year and my face looked terrible when I saw myself in photos, I just bloody started, I'm doing pilates and weight training, and my warm up is like 10mins on the treadmill, I have to talk to my trainer asap, skinny is not cute on me atall!!

Sounds like you are not fueling your body right. From what you described you are not doing too much cardio so it's surprising that you are loosing weight rapidly. Make sure you are providing your body with the right nutrition to support the weight training workouts. It's also important to eat regularly (no meal skipping) and chose small meals that provide a sustainable balance of protein and carbs.

Make sure you are providing your body with the right nutrition to support the weight training workouts. It's also important to eat regularly (no meal skipping) and chose small meals that provide a sustainable balance of protein and carbs. Talk to your trainer about your calorie/protein/carb/fat intake. Like BC said, If you are not over exercising you are probably not eating enough. If you were fairly fit before you started working with the trainer and have now increased your muscle mass (which burn more calories, even at rest) you may need to increase your calories as well. If your trainer feels your diet and exercise regimen are appropriately balanced you may also need to see your doctor to get your thyroid checked out.

I use a bench with adjustable decline positions. If you don't have access to a bench like that you can do them flat on the floor, knees bent in a 90 deg angle, right elbow to left knee, down, then left elbow to right knee.

It sounds confusing but you will need a decline slant bench to do incline crunches/situps. Decline meaning where you lock your feet in on the bench is higher than surface where your head rests. This gives you a greater range of motion than a flat surface. Hope this makes sense.

| I am so proud of all of you guys. You are my inspiration. I am so lazy. I just can't seem to motivate myself to work out. I want to tone up as well but it is 30 degrees in Maryland and once I am in my warm house I don't want to do anything. My husband and I are so out of shape and it will not be cute come February. I know one thing I have 2 months and 19 days so I need to get it together. | |

It's all about fun. I enjoy working out. It's part of my daily routine. Plus it is rewarding to see the results! I know what you're saying about the motivation but once it becomes part of your daily activity it gets easier. It also helps that my job has a wonderful workout facility (free of charge) and I also have access to two other gyms giving me no excuse. Start with a small goal - cardio 3-4 times a week for 45 mins or so and go from there. There is still time to see some results. (Hey btw - I'm a yankee arima gyal too!)
